Origin Story

Our origin story is one that you may have heard before, but we kind of doubt it. A group of ambitious individuals set out to solve a complex problem with a relatively simple solution. More on that later. From the metaphorical basement of a three billion-dollar tech unicorn, a platform was born. Lucidpress grew in a short period of time from a little sprout of a drag-and-drop editor to Sequoia-level sophistication. It took work, unwavering dedication, and a team of real masterminds. Like the unstoppable force of crashing dominos, the ideas began to take on a life of their own, sending us on a trajectory that would lead to the game-changing product that we sell today. If drag-and-drop could make content creation more accessible, what would ensure relevance, impact, and, dare we say, quality? While we believe creativity is endless and you never know who holds the next great idea, we'd argue that not all of those concepts, when translated, are on-brand. And so, we created a solution for that too. With intuitive and lockable templates, Lucidpress became the go-to brand-templating platform, and delivered a content creation formula that gave companies momentum to reach their audience faster.

After over six-million users, 600+ enterprise customers, and no plans to stop the idea-generation sprint that would ultimately raise the bar both for the platform, and for our customers' content game, Lucidpress was then acquired by Charles Thayne Capital. With real 2021 energy, this group of savvy investors recognized the potential for a modern brand-templating platform poised to help businesses build content at scale. Like a butterfly emerging from its pandemic cocoon, Lucidpress was now independent, and the company's future felt destined for greatness. July of 2022 dawned the Marq of a new era. Lucidpress rebranded to Marq and we set our eyes on the grandest of visions yet: Radically change how organizations approach brand management. In a lot of ways, this is only the beginning. Where we go from here is entirely up to our customers' intensity for greatness and our unmatched enthusiasm to come along for the ride, delivering the very best tools to help them get there.

Our Team

Our leadership team combines grit with experience in business management and startup growth.

Owen Fuller

Owen Fuller

Hailing from Alaska, the Land of the Midnight Sun, Owen joined Marq with years of entrepreneurship under his belt. Most recently he served as President of Qzzr, a venture-backed software company that helped brands, like ESPN and Red Bull, create intelligent interactive content. Previously, Owen built and sold Fit Marketing, an inbound marketing agency that had years of 100% annual growth and was recognized as one of Utah’s fastest-growing companies. Owen graduated from BYU’s advertising program.

Outside the office, you’ll find Owen listening to history podcasts or shooting hoops — occasionally he’ll even do both at the same time.

Josh Penrod

Josh Penrod

Josh has over 20 years of experience in product and user experience design and most recently worked as Chief Product Officer at Podium and prior to that he was Vice President of User Experience at Ancestry. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in psychology. Some of Josh’s favorite things are traveling with his wife and four kids, hiking, photography and volleyball.

Miglena Aaron

Miglena Aaron

Miglena brings 15+ years of experience as a CFO of a private company, Director of Finance for a public company, an auditor with Big 4 Accounting Firm, and a SOX compliance analyst for a public company. She is an outstanding leader with a collaborative approach to her work and excels in her ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing and diverse environment.

Nick Hatch

Nick Hatch

Nick brings exceptional leadership and sales experience to the Marq team. He spent just under 5 years at Lucid, as a Sales Team Lead, prior to joining the team at Marq. He has an incredible amount of passion and excitement, always bringing energy to the problems we solve here at Marq.

Steven Loewy

Steven Loewy

Steven joined Marq with over 20 years of experience in B2B marketing strategy and leadership. Previously, he served as Vice President of Marketing at MarketDial, where he drove significant revenue growth for the Series A SaaS startup. He also held senior marketing roles at Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company and 3M. Steven excels in B2B marketing strategy, demand generation, and marketing technology, combining data-driven insights with creative vision. Outside of work, he’s a founding board member of Stay Park City Cycling, dedicating time to safety training and advocacy programs.

Mike Wille

Mike Wille

Mike has many years of marketing and growth experience in startups including Localfluence and Capshare (now Morgan Stanley). He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in business management.

Andrew Packer

Andrew Packer

Andrew has a strong background in Customer Success, leading customer facing teams at Entrata, Podium, and Lucidchart prior to Marq. He is known for a relentless committment to help customers launch effectively and hit their strategic targets. He earned both an undergraduate and MBA degree from Brigham Young University.

Brandon Moss

Brandon Moss

Brandon brings extensive product management experience to the Marq team, having worked at tech companies Podium, Domo and DealerSocket. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in economics. Brandon loves spending his spare time trying to perfect his baking skills in the kitchen, reading a book or playing soccer with his kids.

Chandler Shipley

Chandler Shipley

Chandler was the Senior Manager of Sales Strategy and Operations at Lucid prior to joining the team at Marq, where his tenacity for solving problems makes him invaluable to the growth at Marq. Chandler’s leadership and sales experience make him and Nick Hatch the dynamic duo of Marq’s sales team.
